Our Agricultural Heritage

Over the Years, African Farmer Group Has Produced a Diverse Range of Crops and Livestock.

This includes wheat, soya, tomatoes, cotton, potatoes, maize and corn, macadamias, oranges, sugar cane, beef, dairy milk, baby corn and mange-tout. Our export products reach European markets, while our operations remain grounded in the communities where we farm.

Our History

Seven Decades
of Farming.

A family business built on resilience, faith and a determination to feed the region.

Founded in Tanzania

African Farmer was founded by L. W. Nortier in the Arusha Valley, Tanzania.

Relocation to Zimbabwe

The family relocated to Zimbabwe, laying the foundations for the next chapter of the business.

Model Farms Established

Farms were acquired and developed into well-known model farms with diverse production lines.

Land Reform & Regional Expansion

After the family’s assets were confiscated without compensation, African Farmer expanded into South Africa, focusing on grains and export vegetables.

Expansion into Botswana

A cattle-rearing operation was established in Maun.

Optimizer Program Deployed

Banks began relying on African Farmer to salvage indebted farms across the country. At its peak, AFG managed up to ten farms at one time, successfully returning them to profitable operation.

Expansion into Mozambique

African Farmer expanded into Mozambique with a 1,000-hectare cotton seed operation.

The African Farmer Optimizer Program is a farm turnaround and operational recovery service for financial institutions and agricultural businesses facing financial distress.

We take responsibility for day-to-day farm management, restoring productive capacity with disciplined operations and commercial oversight. The financing institution remains in control: approved inputs and management fees are paid directly by the lender, so operating funds remain transparent and protected.
